Ice-Out!

Ice-Out was called at 6:30 PM last Friday, March 27th. A stiff northwest breeze chewed up the last remaining ice in the central part of Megunticook Lake and I could navigate the patrol boat from the dams to the Ken Bailey Bridge (the definition of Ice-Out on Megunticook).

The winner is Deborah Day with a guess of March 27 th at 3:33 PM! Deborah and her extended family all made guesses in mid-march. Second place went to Robert Collins who guessed 2:00 PM on the 27th. Robert made his guess back in February from Ft. Lauderdale!

Congratulations Deborah, you have won a $100.00 gift Certificate to Maine Sport and a year’s subscription to the Camden Herald. Our second place winner has won a $50.00 gift certificate to Viking Lumber.

In the interest of physical distancing we are not personally presenting the prizes this year, we’ll have to settle for virtual handshakes! But here are our lucky (or knowledgeable) winners.
