Ice-Out!
Megunticook Watershed Warden’s Report
Ice-Out was called at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 27th. A thunderstorm Friday night with gusty winds churned up the water and rid the central part of Megunticook Lake of ice so I could navigate the patrol boat from the dams to the Ken Bailey Bridge (the definition of Ice-Out on Megunticook).
The winner is Doug Stewart with a guess of March 27 th at 9:37 AM! Second place went to Colleen Duggan who guessed March 26th at 2:20 PM. Colleen has a nice story explaining her guess:
Congratulations Doug, you have won a $100.00 gift Certificate to Maine Sport and a year’s subscription to the Camden Herald. Colleen has won a $50.00 gift certificate to Viking Lumber.
In the interest of physical distancing we are not personally presenting the prizes this year, we’ll have to settle for virtual handshakes! But here are our lucky (or knowledgeable) winners.
