Spring 2022 Megunticook Watershed raffle!

Let’s kick off the first day of Spring with a raffle!!!!  Do you put gas in a boat, lawnmower, or any other gas operated machine in or around the Megunticook Watershed? How many times have you accidentally spilled that gas into the lake, pond, river or on your lawn?

Thanks to a generous donation by Port Harbor Marine of Rockport one lucky person will win a 14 gallon Duramax Portable Wheeled Fuel Container. This container comes with a 10’ hose and has a dual mechanical shut-off valve at both the tank and hose for a spill-proof Flo n’ Go disconnection.

All proceeds from this raffle will be used to offset some of the costs incurred by the Megunticook Watershed Association for it’s Watershed Stewards Program. The goals of this program are to combat the spread of invasive aquatic plants and to educate area young people about the threats to our waters. We hire and train area students to inspect boats and trailers at the boat ramps, conduct Invasive Plant Surveys, and monitor water quality. Last year we hired and trained four students and inspected over 1400 watercraft.  Costs of this program continue to increase each and every year. The MWA spent over $6,000 on this program in 2021.

Be sure to stop on in at Port Harbor Maine Rte. 90, 387 West Street Rockport, to check out their large showroom for boat display and boating accessories as well as their fully stocked parts department.

Virtual tickets can be purchased for $20.00 each.

Tickets can be purchased via PayPal, Venmo or Check.

Payments must be received by 3/31/22. Winner will be drawn at random virtually and announced on April 1, 2022.
